Book Club - Women Who Run With The Wolves
Today on Facebook, Abrah Arneson commented about wanting to re-read this book by Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Ph.D. I really hope she has another copy, because I bought this one from her in her leaving Alberta book sale. Anyway, the subtitle is Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype. I’ve been aware of this book on my shelf off and on for several months now, so I took this as a sign that it will be my newest read. I’ll let you know what I think of it soon! Have a wonderful day.
So who knew that all women by the age of 25 would have a “Dark Man Dream”? The Bluebeard story is grim and intriguing, speaking to the wounded and traumatic places deep inside. Great story. So far the writer is very poetic and symbolic. Although I personally tend to look for less flowery prose, it is quite satisfying to read from someone who very aptly symbolizes the Hidden Messages theme. Ms. Estes has a way with story telling - and even shares much about her own story.
